Shock and Awe: Massive 15 Truck Pile-Up Burns Southern CA

The pictures are downright scary. This was a pile-up of Schwarzenegger proportions.

Several news agencies are reporting that the rain-soaked Newhall Pass near Santa Clarita in Southern Californa is, well, on fire. This is a tunnel inferno, not a few fireworks gone awry.

CNN says "Traffic came to standstill north of Los Angeles Saturday morning after a fiery pileup in a trucks-only tunnel injured at least 10 people and left at least one person missing."

The photos of burning trucks look like they come straight out of the Terminator series, with fiery metal strewn about the lanes, filled with smoke and crumpled truck carriages. At least 5 trucks are burning and traffic is jammed in all directions from the point of impact.

Here is the CNN article, with the photo that looks like WW III just started:

Correction: the latest report now says 15 trucks were "involved," where I suppose "involved" is what happens when a linebacker gets his hands on the QB.

Further updates: Now they are officially calling it a 15 truck pile-up. This is worse devastation than most terrorist attacks could manage. Not good. And you can believe there will be political fallout, finger-pointing, and in the end -- heads will roll.

How could an ordinary traffic day come to this? 15 trucks? look at the flaming photos!
