Bangladesh Train Derails: 5 Dead, 100+ Injured

Trains in the orient are often overcrowded. This one was no exception. The Associated Press has reported that 5 of the rear passenger cars derailed, causing multiple deaths and injuries. It reads:

"An overcrowded train jumped the tracks in southern Bangladesh on Saturday, killing at least five passengers and injuring more than 100 others, a railway spokesman said. The Probhati Express — with many passengers riding atop the carriages — was bound for the capital, Dhaka, from the port city of Chittagong, 135 miles to the southeast, when five of the rear cars went off the rails."

Bangladesh is an extremely poor country -- The population is generally poor, rural and Muslim -- where Monsoons (seasonal rainstorms) regularly (annually) flood much of its agriculutural acreage, generally hindering the economic development of the country. The wikipedia article on-topic adds to the list of such hindrances "political turmoil, with fourteen different heads of government and at least four military coups" since it won its independence from Pakistan in 1971.

Derailing trains do not help the cause of economic advancement either. Islamic countries are nearly always poor countries for a reason. Islam's teachings are not conducive to economic development, or personal freedom for many of its people, a cardinal tenet of profitable free-market capitalism. Moreover, national idolatry bears the curse of God, which renders the efforts of men to take dominion vain. God deliberately opposes the growth of false religion, and this means He will keep sending harsh and devastating Monsoons, and that trains will keep on derailing.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin demotes [crushes] any people. Bangladesh is no exception to the rule; nor is any other Muslim nation. Even Saudi Arabia (which boasts the richest man in the world) has very little economic development or infrastructure it did not obtain from its oil wealth, which its leaders have used to buy services from the West to build the country. And even then, it notoriously has half-developed sections, and freeways leading nowhere (which were halted in mid-construction), like a national Winchester Mystery House.

This is the fruit of Islam, which one can witness worldwide.
