A Brief Note About Global Warming And Cold Beer

The New York Times has reported that icees are going to get more expensive soon, or something like that. They claim that ...

"The Arctic ice cap shrank so much this summer that waves briefly lapped along two long-imagined Arctic shipping routes, the Northwest Passage over Canada and the Northern Sea Route over Russia .... Over all, the floating ice dwindled to an extent unparalleled in a century or more, by several estimates."

Comments: Now this has me genuinely worried. Ocktoberfest is coming up soon, and that can only mean one thing -- okay, three things. Good beer, lager, and ales. But the future price of ice is now uncertain, given the whole supply and demand thing. What does that mean for cold beer prices next summer? I have no idea. But if the ice-makers are anything like the Oil industry, with the writing of this article by the NY Times, prices should skyrocket tomorrow -- just in time for Ocktoberfest. Is the timing coincidence? Of course not.

It's a newspaper-ice industry conspiracy of global proportions, probably involving the trilateral commission and the current whitehouse administration. Is Sam Adams getting kickbacks? Possibly. I think I'll just blame it on the Democrats. Whose really responsible for the coming ice shortage? Take your pick (you're going to need it).
